Food Tolerance and Food Allergy Testing by Post

Food allergies are an immune reponse which can be life threatening. In the case of allergy a common substance can be inappropriately identified by the body as 'foreign' . These foods and additives must always be avoided.

Food intolerances are a different forn of allergic reponse and need not be avoided indefinitely. They occur when the lining of the small intestine is compromised or damaged by bacterial overgrowth or yeast or fungal infection. The cell walls of the small intestine become damaged and 'leaky'. This allows a pathway to substances that would not normally enter the bloodstream. The body may view these foodstuffs or other substances (such as candida) as 'foreign' or as a pathogen. Swirling clumps of an immune chemical known as immunoglobulin IgG, together with white blood cells and the pathogen pass through the bloodstream settling into
joints and all parts of the body, which inflames.

Weight gain, bloating, water retention, fatigue and joint pain can result. Many conditions such as fibromyalgia, candida
and irritable bowel and arthritic conditions can occur. It is important that these substances are identified as they
should be avoided until the small intestine is repaired and symptoms have resolved. These foods would not have to be
avoided indefinitely once the digestive system is repaired.

This is a blood test which tests 88 foods and includes a customised rotation diet plan. Food categories

Most food tolerance tests ask for a pinprick of whole blood, which deteriorates in transit before testing and affects the quality and reliability of results. This test requires a blood sample where the blood serum is extracted and this must be done by specialist facilities. Thus the reliability and integrity of the testing is not compromised and the results are much more accurate.
